It’s been about six weeks since our last post which was just before Thanksgiving. We hope you all had wonderful holidays and are doing well.
This past Tuesday, Siobhan and I took a quick trip to the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge on Sanibel Island and purchased our America The Beautiful Annual National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass.
This is one more small but important ingredient to our upcoming RV Adventure. It allows us free entry to all the National Parks, National Forests, National Monuments and National Wildlife Refuges. This pass provides access to 500 million acres (or about one-fifth) of the land in our country that is managed by the Department of the Interior. The National Park Service, one of its bureaus, is accountable for 84.6 million of those acres spanning the 58 National Parks within our country. Of all those National Parks, 46 are located in the “Lower 48” states and we hope to explore as many of these places as possible during our RV Adventure this year.
We will be making a few more short trips in the near future and will keep you posted as our adventure unfolds.
